What is POP?

Popular culture, music, and of course style are the inspiration behind POP.

This neighborhood boutique, featuring fashionable trends for men and women, started in August 2003 by Sheila Sharma, a former attorney and Teach for America/Americorps volunteer, carries only a limited number of each item and rarely reorders. This allows POP to have rapid turnover (new stuff arrives daily) and more importantly, ensures that six other people aren't wearing your outfit on a Saturday night!

In addition to some larger brands like Penguin, Ben Sherman, and Free People, POP carries lesser-known labels that offer fabulous looks at reasonable prices, as well as jewelry, t-shirts, bags, accessories, candles, lotions, and cards.

In October 2005, Sheila upped the Pop ante and opened a second location in Brooklyn, NY. By all accounts, Williamsburg has embraced its stylish new neighbor!

Look out for big things from Pop in 2006, including a brand new website for the brand new year!
