What is POP?

Popular culture, music, and of course style, are the inspiration behind POP. This neighborhood boutique, featuring fashionable and affordable trends for women, including apparel, shoes, and accessories, was started in August 2003 in Washington, D.C.  POP opened in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY in 2005, now the flagship store after closing the D.C. location in August 2008. POP became exclusively women's in 2011.

Who is POP? 

Owner Sheila Sharma, a former attorney and Teach for America volunteer, started POP with no retail background or experience to speak of, shy of countless seasons of buying, purging, arranging, matching and redecorating; Sheila is fond of saying that practicing law can really inspire you to think about what you really want to do! Sheila personally selects all the merchandise to ensure a mix of hip, unique and affordable goods. And don't forget the dog, Oscar, the fluffy, smiling Keeshond that sits half off the stoop of POP welcoming passersby and kissing dogs and babies alike!!
